Located on a surf beach north of Auckland, New Zealand, this house was completed in 1989. The very exposed location required the house to be built in sections, then bolted together, so the house could be easily moved in the case of severe erosion on the foreshore. Designed by Auckland architect Graham Pitts, the design is an open plan with large sliding doors to take advantage of the beautiful location and indoor/outdoor living.
